NoiseGen
NoiseGen generates procedural soundscapes for focus, sleep, and relaxation — an audio tool for people who find silence difficult and music too distracting. The design challenge was significant: an app about reducing stimulation could not itself be a source of it. Every visual decision needed to reinforce calm while giving power users the deep customisation control that audiophiles and productivity enthusiasts demand.
We designed a minimal, distraction-free interface where the soundscape itself was the centrepiece of the UI. Sound layer controls, mix ratios, and timer settings were accessible through a single elegant screen — complex enough to satisfy power users, simple enough to set up in under ten seconds before sleep. Dark-mode-first design with low-contrast palettes completed the sensory logic of the product.
